We Go Beyond.

Community INVOLVEMENT

Gravis Tech values community. We work hard to serve those organizations and initiatives that promote education, support community development and volunteerism.

Tour Wallace

website and virtual buildings history tour

Gravis Tech designed and developed a virtual history tour of the missing buildings of Wallace. This is a project we created and sponsored to help augment the history and technology education of Wallace High School Students, as well as to inspire visitors to think differently about our empty spaces. We mentored Wallace High student interns via the Morbeck Scholarship Fund. We also donated many additional hours to the creation, development, promotion, and release of this popular and fun tourism product.

Augmented Reality

wallace flower project

website

Gravis Tech created and sponsors the website that helps the Wallace Flower project obtain sponsorships for the flower displays hanging throughout Wallace. Funds raised via this website are also used for improvements to the Wallace Flower Park on Cypress. Funds are now allocated towards growing the number of annual flower arrangements available throughout the entire town. Visitors and tourists often remark at their beauty enhancing their impression of Wallace.

Friends of the Wallace Pool

The Wallace Swimming Pool was built in 1939 as a WPA project. Full restoration was carried out by the community from 1999 to 2007 at a cost of $265,000. Gravis Tech also supports the mission of this organization which was formed to provide support and guidance to the City of Wallace for the vision and mission of restoring this historic swimming pool. To date, steering committee meetings have resulted in fundraising efforts, matching donations, events that have raised thousands of dollars to support the further restoration and repair of the pool for the residents of the Silver Valley.

Ski Wallace!

Ski Wallace is a non-profit that supports historical conservation through fundraising. Winter activities and events include a sporting event known as Ski Joring where skiers and boarders are pulled behind ATV’s through a challenging course lined with spectators. Gravis Tech was responsible for creation of a Ski Wallace website, hosting of the website, promotion of the annual Ski Jor Event, and both Gravis Tech company executives serve on the Board of Directors and its employees have donated countless volunteer hours to support this successful event. It attracts many winter enthusiasts in the form of skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobilers directly benefiting hotels, restaurants, and increasing visits to local Ski Areas like Lookout Pass and Silver Mountain.

Student Internships

To date, Gravis Tech has supported the work of 8 Silver Valley Student Interns on charitable projects. During their internships, they learn valuable technical skills and potential career paths to explore while working with us. We are always interested in speaking with area youth who have an interest in technology.

Wallace Elks Lodge

Gravis Tech helped design a Student Intern project benefitting the Wallace Elks Lodge. This site includes a virtual tour of the facility to help the Lodge with facility rentals. This in turn helps raise funds to support the Elk’s mission of promoting Drug Awareness programs in our schools, Veterans Services, Scholarships, Youth Activities, and much more.

Idaho Elks/Montana Elks

Gravis Tech provides, at a reduced rate, website hosting and maintenance for the Idaho and Montana State Elks Associations. We have also created many additional page features and added functionality that helps members and local Idaho and Montana chapters navigate the website and stay connected.

Friends of the Coeur D’Alene Trails

The award winning 72 mile paved, non-motorized, mostly alpine and basically flat rail trail is a very narrow Idaho State Park. It travels downhill from the Plummer prairie over the expansive Chatcolet Bridge along Coeur d’Alene Lake and upriver until it terminates at the City of Mullan near the Montana border. Gravis Tech helps manage and maintain the website for the Friends of the Coeur D’Alene Trails. In addition, we created the first ever 360 tours of the Trail of the Coeur D’Alenes. The trail is one of the area’s Crown Jewels for biking enthusiasts.

In-Kind Donations

Additionally, at reduced rates, Gravis Tech has also created and maintains modern websites for the City of Wallace and Shoshone County. This allows for municipal and county governments to easily stay engaged with the communities they serve, and to provide residents with access to services or disseminate useful community information.
